Shacman Charges Ahead: 221% Surge in New Energy Heavy-Duty Truck Sales in January 2025

On March 6, reporters learned from Shacman Group that in January 2025, the company’s sales of new energy heavy-duty trucks surged by 221% year-on-year, making it one of the fastest-growing traditional heavy-duty truck brands.

Recently, reporters visited Shacman final assembly workshop in Gaoling District, Xi’an. Vehicles transporting materials shuttled between warehouses and production lines, while thousands of components were delivered to workstations. Automated robotic arms and lifting equipment operated seamlessly. Workers assembled key parts like chassis and tires through over 30 processes, with a heavy-duty truck rolling off the line every 12 minutes on average. In early 2025, Shacman is firing on all cylinders in the new energy sector!

"All of this stems from the 'hardcore data' we’ve delivered in the market. Shacman new energy heavy-duty trucks account for about 10% of the domestic market—meaning one out of every 10 new energy heavy-duty trucks comes from us," said Wang Huadong, Deputy Director of Shacman New Energy Business Promotion Office. As early as 2009, Shacman began developing new energy trucks. Years of technological accumulation have now translated into explosive sales growth.

In 2024, Shacman sold 6,900 new energy heavy-duty trucks and received over 11,000 orders, capturing 8.9% of the market—a 4.2% increase in market share. The company’s new energy products excel in reliability, energy efficiency, and safety, meeting core customer needs. They are already deployed in industries such as steel, coal, cement, mining, construction, and port logistics. As a pillar industry in Shaanxi Province, the automotive sector—led by Shacman, BYD, and Geely—has propelled the region into the national forefront of new energy vehicle development.

Shacman has consistently stood out in the heavy-duty truck market. By 2024, the company had prepared 3,009 new energy vehicle models to boost competitiveness. For dump trucks alone, it offers over 200 charging, battery-swapping, and hydrogen-powered variants with cargo boxes ranging from 5,600mm to 8,800mm. These models, praised for their high load capacity, power, and off-road performance, have gained strong market acceptance. In 2025, Shacman aims to sell 20,000 new energy heavy-duty trucks and capture 14% of the market. The company has launched its "New Energy 2.0" lineup, excelling in energy savings, efficiency, and reliability. In the traction truck segment, Shacman is strategically expanding its pure electric models. These vehicles support diverse scenarios—steel mills, coal transport, ports, short-haul logistics, and consumer goods transport—and offer flexible charging, battery-swapping, and hydrogen refueling options to meet varied customer needs.
