We are often questioned by our clients: someone others quoted us a better price. Their price is much much better than yours. Why you sell it at so high price?
Normally in this situation, first of all, we will ask for the specification of our competitor. We will check if there is any difference on the specification. Sometimes, it looks like the same truck model ID, but when you figure out the detail specification, you will find a lot of difference. For example, the engine horse power, one is 400HP, while another is 430HP. The gearbox, one is 12 Front & 2 Reverse, while another is 8 Front & 2 Reverse. The cargo body, one is 26CBM, while another is 20CBM…These differences all leads to the cost difference. We can not compare the price when the specification is not the same.
However, in some cases, we confirmed that the Shacman truck model is the same, most of the specs are the same, but others price is much better than ours. In July, 2024, we quoted a dump truck to a client, and he reported 3 days later, that someone other quoted an exactly same specification shacman truck model, but his price is 4000usd cheaper. To be honest, this is hardly happened when the trucks both are brand new and exactly same specifications. When the truck model ID is fixed, and the main specs are the same, there won't be a high difference in the price between them. For any top brand, it will be disaster if they can not hold the price balance in different sales channels. Tough competition is always scarificing the distributor or manufacturer profit. The fact is that, the truck profit won't be as high as like 4000usd. It's like two same spec iphones, the price won't have much difference when we buy at different shops. But you can get a much cheaper one if you buy a used hand iphone or not genious and original iphone.
We understand for any client, it will be great attractive if they can save 4000usd at a truck. So we said sorry to the client because even if we sacrificed all our profits, it will be impossible to lower 4000usd for the truck units. We respected the quote from any competitors and hoped our client make judgement and decision on their own.
Principle is that, always be honest to clients. Being happy if they get better suppliers or partners even if it’s not us.
